Mount Vernon on the Flaggy Shore
Mount Vernon is a beautiful country house on The Flaggy Shore about 40 minutes from Doolin.
Mount Vernon is comfortably furnished to a high standard throughout with many interesting and beautiful features. The sitting room has an open fireplace. The library and terrace bedrooms open onto an extensive walled garden with lawns, herbaceous borders and a small orchard. The immense trees are thought to have been a gift from George Washington when the house was built. The spacious kitchen has a welcoming Aga and is fully kitted out for all culinary needs.
Mount Vernon was previously owned by Lady Gregory and has hosted and inspired poets and luminaries such as Yeats and Shaw. The house is alive with the past while fitted with all the necessities of today. There is high speed wifi throughout the house, a 32” television with Netflix, and a smart home system including Alexa to soundtrack your stay. The house is available for rent on a self-catering basis and sleeps eleven people.
Check in day is Saturday and we allow 7 night stays.

The incredibly spacious country kitchen features soaring vaulted ceilings and includes all the modern conveniences, a microwave, fridge, freezer, hob, oven, Aga and a wide range of utensils.
The spacious bedrooms are full of character with shuttered windows providing enchanting sea or garden views. Sleep peacefully in large luxurious beds, resting in the incredible quiet that Mount Vernon enjoys.
